Shakiera joined the CHWR Team in December 2024 as a Behavioral Health Intervention Counselor. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with minors in Neuroscience and Health & Society from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) in 2021. She also earned a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina A&T State University in 2024. She has interests in mental health and wellness, building resilience amongst marginalized communities, and child and adult psychopathology.

In her free time, Shakiera enjoys trying new foods, listening to music, exercising, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
