Kelsey Thompson, PhD, CCC-SLP 

Research Specialist


Kelsey joined the CHWRG in June 2023 and supports the Spectra Discovery and HomeGrown research projects. She is also developing new projects related to feeding and nutrition in developmentally delayed populations. Kelsey earned her doctorate in Speech & Hearing Sciences from UNC-Chapel Hill and is a licensed and certified speech language pathologist who worked clinically in early intervention and private practice supporting children and families with pediatric feeding disorder, as well as a variety of speech and language diagnoses, before coming to research. The goal of her research is to support families and professionals in preventing long-term feeding problems and thereby improving children’s growth and development.

In her free time, Kelsey enjoys reading, baking, and exploring anything outside with her infant, toddler, and husband.
